As part of Harold’s Challenge to be active, be healthy, be happy he is inviting children, families and businesses to take part and join him at the Wimborne Rotary Swimathon at Canford School Sports Centre, Wimborne on Saturday 31st August.
It promises to be a fun afternoon for everyone taking part and you will be helping to raise vital funds that will help Life Education Wessex to make a real difference to children’s health and well-being. Harold is the iconic Giraffe puppet used in classrooms (life buses) to engage with young children about health and food, and the effects of drinking, smoking and taking drugs.
Teams of up to 6 people are invited to take part in the Wimborne Swimathon with each team member able to swim a minimum of 2 lengths of a full size pool. Each participant will swim two lengths each swimming up and down alternately for 40 minutes as a team, it’s not a race.
Anyone and everyone is encouraged to take part in Harold’s Challenge to raise £50,000 in the coming year and if swimming is not for you why not do something else that is active and/or healthy? It can be anything from playing golf, climbing a mountain, running a marathon, cooking a healthy dinner for friends, holding a sports day, giving up alcohol for a month, donating cake or biscuit money – anything goes.
If you would like more details about the Swimathon then please call Lorraine Hewitt on 07825 268183 or email email@example.com.
